Beauty

People who love color do so only because they fear its absence.

The man in the photograph is a study in Black and White.

Light filters through, casting his face half in shadow, half in light.

A shrug of a shoulder, hair falls the color of raven’s tears

A tilt of the head, cheekbones so sharp they could slice a heart

A veiled glance, ecliptical eyes so piercing they could sunder a soul;

….Oh, the people of the world that see only color, how you are pitied;

You know nothing of true beauty.
