Synchronicity

On the rail tracks outside of Scranton he knew the wait was finally over. He’d been riding the rails for years since the Depression, life was a struggle for him, he was an outcast, a chocolate man living in a vanilla world. The railcar dick raised his billyclub and something smashed into the back of his head, obliterating his existence forever. The sealed envelope in his ragged coat fell out as his body was thrown from the moving train, if it had ever been opened or delivered the contents would have read “I’m comin home Mamma, your loving son, Daniel”.

.

Many years away on the rail tracks outside of Scranton, a chocolate dog is searching for a vanilla boy that carries a sealed envelope in his back pocket that contains the words “You’re the best Mom, luv Danny”.
